I had been trying to come up with something catchy for a couple of weeks, exchanging ideas with some of my friends. I came up with the name "Hermione's Knapsack" on my way to work, sitting in the car listening to an audiobook version of Geoffrey Chauncer's Canterbury Tales, and heard the name Hermione. I naturally thought of one of my favorite book characters, Hermione Granger, from the Harry Potter book series. I remembered about how she was always getting Harry and Ron out of jams because of her extensive reading and book knowledge, and therefore she always had a ton of books in her bookbag (also called a knapsack), hence the name of the blog.
